There’s been a lot of buzz around the CALA offices lately, and for good reason! In the month of June alone, we’ve had the honor of celebrating not one, not two, but five park ribbon cuttings alongside our incredible clients. That’s right, five parks opened in just one month, and it couldn’t have come at a better time: Parks Make Life Better ® Month!

So why all the buzz? At CALA, we don’t just design parks, we help bring ideas to life. Watching a project grow from a sketch on paper to a vibrant, community-filled space is what drives us. These parks aren’t just places, they’re the heart of neighborhoods & communities, where kids play, people connect, and memories are made.
What exactly is Parks Make Life Better ® Month? It’s a statewide celebration each July led by the California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS), honoring the incredible impact parks and recreation have on our lives, from boosting physical and mental well-being to building stronger, more connected communities.
We’re proud to join CPRS in celebrating the vital role parks play in our daily lives, and even prouder to partner with cities and communities that are making lasting investments in these spaces for generations to come.
