Project Detail

When the City of Menlo Park passed their bond initiative, they hired Callander Associates to prepare plans for improvements to all of its major parks including Burgess Park, the City’s flagship facility and recreational hub.

The new design retains many core recreational elements while adding new features desired by local residents. Renovations include a sand-based sports field for improved drainage and year-round use by soccer and baseball teams, an upgraded Little League field, picnic area, tennis courts, and play area. Reconfigured parking lots and pathway systems improve circulation and accessibility. The new skate park and concourse with snack bar/restroom are new amenities that were strongly desired by City residents.
