More than just a ribbon of asphalt for recreational use, the trail provides convenient north-south off-street access to major technology employers located in San Jose’s Golden Triangle. This paved trail also connects to the airport and other trail networks, including the Bay Trail in Alviso.
Callander Associates designed the trailhead entry plazas located at the major street intersections. The entry plazas include decorative paving, seatwalls and signage. Unique, aeronautically themed interpretive signage allows trail users to learn about various topics such as aviation, river ecology, and archaeology. Compass roses and in-ground lettering, also found in the Downtown Guadalupe River Park, serve to link this newer section of trail to the City’s overall network of trails.
