Stockton Waterfront   back | previous | next

The City of Stockton is seeking to revitalize the Downtown waterfront into a river promenade called the "Waterfront Promenade". Callander Associates has been a key element in the design and public outreach for this project, as prime consultant of the project team. This proposed promenade will provide improved recreation, educational, aesthetic, environmental and economic benefits at this location, just walking distance from Downtown. Along the San Joaquin River, or Stockton Channel, the numerous amenities will include a first class marina, harbor master facility, dry stack storage for boats, parking areas, plazas, and pedestrian and bicycle pathways. Local residents, downtown employees and business owners, concert visitors, boat enthusiasts, fishermen and active sports people will have access to the promenade. It will link the south shore from Weber Point Events Center, a 10 acre waterfront park adjacent to Downtown, to Morelli Boat Launch Facility approximately 4500 feet to the west. A $13.3 million dollar loan has been secured by the Redevelopment Agency to help fund the project. Callander Associates has also assembled a special funding package for the City's legislative lobbyist.
