As a part of an overall redevelopment plan for the City of San Carlos, Callander Associates provided design services for street and sidewalk improvements spanning over four miles of urban streetfront. With the help of a local committee, primarily owners and merchants, a series of alternatives was developed, which resulted in a final design plan. As the gateway to downtown and connection to the adjacent railway station, San Carlos Avenue has dramatically improved the aesthetic draw into the central business district, and was enthusiastically supported and approved by the committee and the Planning Commission.
