The Concord Redevelopment Agency embarked upon an ambitious program to encourage new investment, revitalize the downtown, and create a more pedestrian-friendly environment. The project included a Downtown Streetscape Master Plan, Streetscape Guidelines for use by private businesses, and a Facade Improvement Plan. Throughout the planning process Callander Associates worked with merchants, property owners, and other interested persons in consensus-building workshops. With the successful completion of the master plan phase, the City is currently moving ahead with construction documents for $2.6 million in streetscape improvements.
