The City of Rancho Cordova partnering with Caltrans, Regional Transit, SMUD, The Sacramento Tree Foundation, and Sacramento County to enhance the Mather Field Road and Highway 50 Interchange while providing critical management and coordination services between these various agencies. Callander Associates prepared the conceptual designs, construction documents, and provided assistance during the construction phase of this project. The design of the interchange includes California native trees, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers. This improvement project provides an important gateway into the City of Rancho Cordova from the greater Sacramento area. In addition to providing a gateway into Rancho Cordova this project will help create a sense of place in the City.
