In the close knit community of Pollock Pines, site analysis is currently underway for this 80-acre recreation area, 40 acres of which includes a reservoir. The final outcome of this project will present a Master Plan to help guide future development and implementation of this recreation area. The site is currently split by a road dividing it into two segments: the reservoir with picnic areas and a parking area; and secondly, a more developed area with senior center, little league facilities, and heavily forested areas. Potential concept improvements might include enhancements surrounding the senior center, new ball diamond and soccer field, additional picnic areas, a new trail alignment around the reservoir, and a new trail spur to the neighboring 26 acre County park. Collaboration, including a community participation process with the El Dorado Irrigation District, stakeholders, and community members will be key to this planning process.
