The Callander Associates Rancho Cordova office will be holding it “Open House” on Tuesday, August 26 from 7-9 pm. Food and drinks will be served at this event intended to welcome folks to our new home. Selected projects on display will include:

Parks and Recreation
This display will present various park and recreation projects around the Sacramento/Valley and Bay Area regions, both built and in the planning stages. Projects will include Tillotson Parkway (Sacramento County), Nelson Park (Stockton), Lyle Park (Menlo Park), and Freedom Park (Modesto)

Trails and Bridges
Trail designs come in all shapes and sizes. The successful ones take full advantage of sights, circulation, and materials. Because of there linear nature, property issues are usually a major hurdle to overcome as well as developing community consensus. On display will be several successful trail projects including Seymour Bridge (Half Moon Bay), Virginia Corridor (Modesto), Gold Bug Bridge (Placerville), Tidewater Bikeway (Manteca), Coastside and Pilarcitos Creek Trails (Half Moon Bay)

Play Environments
What distinguishes the cookie cutter playgrounds from the truly special play environments? Come see three distinct playgrounds under development and built. The small: Victory Park Playground (Stockton); the medium: Neary Lagoon Playground (Santa Cruz County); and the HUGE: Southside Park Playground (Sacramento). These playgrounds have set the bar for playground design at Callander Associates.

Urban Renewal and Design
Creating a sense of place with downtown revitalization and streetscape projects. Review of three urban design projects including Gleason Neighborhood (Stockton), Hayward Downtown (Hayward), and Laurel Streetscape (San Carlos). Discuss how design concepts were generated, community outreach techniques, unique construction implications, and more.
