Spotlight on bridge and trails projects   back | previous | next

Two of the best measures of successful bridge and trail planning projects are how well the community supports the project when it reaches the agency approval level and how quickly the document crystallizes into real trail improvements.

Callander Associates works closely with design professionals and communities to facilitate creative and comprehensive plans for trail networks and to provide communities with integrated design services. These services include grant application writing, community outreach, trails master planning, capital improvement programming and phasing, and related services.

Almost all of Callander Associates’ more creative and interesting bridge and trail projects have involved an emphasis on interagency collaboration. Staff has successfully implemented a variety of trail projects involving the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), Sacramento County, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), Coastal Conservancy, United States Corps of Engineers, United States Fish and Wildlife Services, California Fish and Game, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Joint Powers Board, and others.
